FAQs: FACIAL SKIN TIGHTENING

The introduction of vacuum at this stage also improves circulation and removes toxins for a brighter complexion.

The ProMax utilises safe and effective Radio frequency technology. The Radio frequency energy is applied to the skin, causing gentle heating. This stimulates a process often referred to as ‘wound healing’. The heat is recognised by the brain which then signals cells in the deeper layers of your skin to produce collagen and elastin.

The ProMax is particularly effective on fine lines, lower face slackness and for overall skin tightening. We can also target areas of concern such as around the eyes, mouth or jaw line. Most people are suitable for treatment. We recommend a consultation with your Technician to ascertain, if the treatment will be successful for you.

Generally, a course of 6 to 8 treatments is recommended at 2-3 weekly intervals. After a course of treatments, results are expected to last 1 to 2 years. However, we do recommend maintenance sessions once every 1-3 months. Treatment times can vary anywhere between 15 minutes to 1 hour. This depends on the treatment area you wish to have.

Results can usually be seen immediately, but get better and better post-treatment as your collagen is renewed. This provides a long-term collagen stimulation for a younger, fresher looking appearance.

Treatment is not considered painful, most people actually comment on how pleasurable and relaxing the heating sensation is due to the Radio frequency technology.

After the Radio frequency treatment we can expect to see some of the following: pink and redness to the skin, skin will feel warm to the touch. However, this should subside quickly. Bruising may occasionally occur after treatment with the vacuum suction in delicate areas, especially around the eyes. This can last up to 5 days but should resolve with no long-term effects.

We ALWAYS provide an after-care sheet during your consultation for you to refer back to. It is VERY important for you follow our aftercare advice closely as this can have a huge impact on possible side effects occurring.

Like with most medical treatments there can be possible contra-indications which can one prevent from having treatment. For example:

– Patients who are pregnant or breast feeding
– Patients with Cancer
– Patients with Rosacea, severe thread veins or Melasma
– Fragile or broken skin the treatment area
– Chemical peels ( Variable wait time depending on strength of peel)
– Avoid area for 2 weeks after Botox and Injectable filler
– Use of Roaccutane within the past 6 months

We recommend a consultation with your technician to ascertain if the treatment will be suitable/successful for you.

We are very lucky that all our technicians were directly trained by the ProMax Lipo manufacturer Lynton. We are paying for Lynton’s ongoing support and therefore we have the privilege to contact the manufacturer directly any time directly with queries and they are excellent at answering.

We understand that sometimes you are unable to make your appointment. Therefore, within 48 hours of your scheduled appointment you will receive two appointment reminders, one via SMS and one via Email. We require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice. If less notice is given a missed appointment charge of £40 will be taken (off your investment or your deposit).

At Bedford Cosmetic Laser, the client should be a minimum age of 18 years. Most clinics and salons will not be insured to treat under 18’s due to variable change in hormone levels during puberty.

Please remember to allow time for parking. Parking facilities are on a pay and display basis from 8am – 6pm (maximum stay 2hrs) along Rutland Road next to the centre. As of February 2021 the cost for 2 hours parking is £2 and the machines are card only.
